The closure serves two critical functions: it screws onto the bottle neck (typically 28mm to 38mm diameter) and simultaneously provides the secure mounting point for the sprayer mechanism and dip tube. The mold is built to extremely tight tolerances because the closure must seal against both the bottle rim (internal seal) and the sprayer pump housing (external seal) without leaking, even when exposed to aggressive chemicals like bleach, ammonia, or solvents. The cavity and core are machined from Hastelloy or DIN 1.4125 stainless steel for maximum chemical resistance. The mold features a precision multi-start thread profile (typically 4 to 8 starts) that allows the trigger sprayer to be installed with a quarter-turn rather than multiple rotations. An integrated venting groove allows air to enter the bottle as liquid is dispensed, preventing vacuum lock. The hot runner system uses abrasion-resistant tips to withstand glass-filled PP or HDPE resins. All seals and O-rings within the mold are made of FKM or FFKM (Kalrez) to resist chemical attack from process residues. Cycle time is 10 to 16 seconds, and cavity counts from 8 to 48 are available.
