This compression mold is specifically engineered for high-volume production of standard water bottle caps (28mm PCO 1881, 38mm, and 29/25 neck finishes). Built for use with compression molding machines, this mold produces caps with zero gate marks and no material waste, as the process uses pre-heated parisons rather than a runner system. The cavity and core sets are manufactured from nitrided tool steel (DIN 1.2842 or equivalent), surface-hardened to 68โ72 HRC to withstand the abrasive nature of PP and HDPE with calcium carbonate fillers. Each cavity is individually temperature-controlled via high-flow cooling channels that maintain cavity-to-cavity variation within ยฑ1ยฐC, ensuring uniform cap shrinkage and consistent tamper-evident band performance. The mold features a precision-ground shearing edge for clean cap separation and a self-cleaning venting system that prevents flash formation. With cavity counts available from 32 up to 64, this mold can produce between 15,000 and 40,000 caps per hour depending on press configuration.
