The mold produces two-piece CR closures consisting of an inner threaded liner and an outer ratcheted shell that requires simultaneous downward pressure and rotation to open. The inner and outer components are molded either in separate cavities within the same tool or via a two-step insert molding process depending on your production requirements. The mold features precision-machined ratchet teeth (typically 8 to 12 teeth per cap) with draft angles optimized for both easy ejection and secure engagement. All cavity and core components are machined from DLC-coated (diamond-like carbon) tool steel to prevent galling and wear on the ratcheting surfaces. An unscrewing mechanism with hydraulic or servo-driven rotation strips the cap from the core while maintaining perfect thread geometry. A vision system inspection port can be integrated for automated quality checks of the ratchet tooth formation.
